National motto of Canada

Does anyone over there actually know this is our motto? Our REAL one!

a mari usque ad mare
"from sea to sea" From Psalm 72:8, "Et dominabitur a mari usque ad mare, et a flumine usque ad terminos terrae" (KJV: "He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth").

It is NOT actually this...
Hey, I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader....
I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dogsled....
and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada,
although I'm certain they're really really nice.

I have a Prime Minister, not a president.
I speak English and French, not American.
And I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'.

I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack.
I believe in peace keeping, not policing,
diversity, not assimilation,
and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.
A toque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch,
and it is pronounced 'zed' not 'zee', 'zed' !!!!

Canada is the second largest landmass!
The first nation of hockey!
and the best part of North America

My name is Joe!!
And I am Canadian!!!

I guess both mottos cover the vast differances in all of us. eh.

ah ah ah

They have faded enormously.trust me. perhaps they don't look so bad to you, to me? I felt like the combo of a 15 yr old brookesheilds and the count when I first laid my eyes on these puppies. jabroni...thanks Brad for that new saying....beats 'kickter viscious' and ...oi, I can't remember the other one..what was it? LOL(inside sibling joke)

nothing.something.

Apparently people love The Muppets, judging by the comments anyway!

Well, I'm still 'smelling what the rock is cookin' and counting my way 'ah ah ah' .... in otherwords, I still look the same but we just came back from a trip to Wailoaloa beach and I'm hoping the sun bleached out the brows a bit today...I know my skin is a little redder if that any indicator. We are on our first day of WINTER holidays. Spent 3 hrs at the beach, came back with sand everywhere and a slight burn it is now 28c and has cooled down a few degrees. Did I mention this is WINTER? still weird. still weird after all these years.

And now for some meandering thots,

A year ago, we were getting ready to take the long journey overseas to go and have my little bubba. A year ago, we were a family of 4. A year ago was a long time ago but it seems like yesterday. Vaughn(as with the other 2 mongrels) has always been a part of my family. I have always felt that I would know when my family is complete. It is so very complete and full.I knew this as soon as I held that little purple stitch baby in my arms.(when Eli heard he had a brother, he said, "Aw right, lets go see my baby brother'Stitch'") You might think I wish for a girl. SOmeone to shop with (i hate shopping) someone to paint nails with (i don;t have any) someone to put ribbons in her hair(i have Gerry!) someone to share wardrobes with(again, i have Gerry) etcetcetc....I have some beautiful girls in my life. They are not mine but they are definately my girls. Kirsten, Kaitlyn, Carlin, Jasmin and Mackenzie. My girls. keep me in fashion when I catch up with them, remind me how old I really am(just by the mere fact of their aging) and make me thankful that I have little boys who totally adore their sister-cousins. I don't wish for girls, I have them. My guys will eventually bring home some girls (better not be dumbos) and then I will have more girls. Besides, if I had girls it just wouldn't be right to teach them to make armpit farts at the table...

1 trip to the beauty parlor...AH AH AH

and this is what I look like....it's not like I knew they were doing this to my eyebrows. I didn't ask for 'the count' look. When you pay 10bucks for a facial at a beauty school with 'therapists' in training, this is what you get....buyer beware. I'd post an actual photo but our Nikon is on the fritz. Besides, this is what I look like. Except I'm not as purple.

this week

this weeks sees us with one boy getting a tooth, one boy eager to lose his first, somewhat loose tooth, same said boy riding bike on his own without help, without training wheels and first time ever. TW's were taken off almost a year ago, tires kept going flat and well, life here makes everything challenging...just to get the right inner tube takes more hunting than a wild boar hunt. This week also sees us with a boy healing some more road rash in time to sport a nice black and blue eye.... Diarrhea all around for the wee three and a goodbye bbq party for another pilot leaving our shores. This guy is headed for the Maldives. Found another great place to secure very cheap movies. Just watched 'CARS' and only 1 person got up in the screen and walked past, although there was an announcement for 'so-and-so' to go and get their child from the canteen! This was all in the comfort of our own home. $3 but I had to buy the microwave popcorn...well, I had to order it and then wait a week for it's delivery, buy it and THEN enjoy it.....

Gerry is off work this week. We hope to get some projects finished around the place, cement pads to finish off the driveway, another in the back to make a nice little patio area(did I say we? I meant me...) Gerry is humouring me and taking over this project I have!

now it is time to remove the pizza from the oven. hungry boys and crying bubb.
Jumanji is on TV and we have only had to watch it once before!

also...

Yo.
Blogger has changed the way I enter in comments on my pictures, in about 3 years, when my baby is a little older and less dependant, I might have some time to figure it out! or, switch weblogs to a slightly more user friendly one. Until then, hope you can decipher which comment goes with which picture. ie/ Vaughn is eating sausage roll, not displaying his cigarette butt collection!

keeping it real.
