Happy Birthday Gerry

So, this year, I remembered it, and made a pseudo plan for it too! Although the pics I wanted to get framed are a ways away from getting done, but they are promised for your birthday. I just love you so much and it's ok if my family reads this cause I think they love you too. (but not as much as they love me....well, perhaps more...) (I have always suspected that when Gerry enterd my life, I went up a notch in popularity with my neices/nephews and then he rose way above that!) Well, anyway, GErry spent an early morning flying a medivac for a 5 year old boy in Levuka...as if you know where that is! Anyway, the child was in coma from a horse kick, and Gerry flew to Suva, picked up a Doctor and continued on. Amidst very gusty wind and torrential rain. This was the first time I have had a serious twang of fear with his job. I know God has blessed him with knowing when he has reached the envelope and he is smart enuf to know not to push that envelope during this weather...I mean, he IS still a pilot..they all like to fly low! Well. after his medivac in the Islander, he flew the Beaver on to the Yasawa Island Resort where the like of Ralph Lauren enjoy to stay. Gerry says it good there, I'll just take his word as it's not likely I'll get there! After work, I picked up Ger, we had a nice dinner, a birthday surprise and a cake. Thanks for all the emails and calls. He is a nice guy I married. Yeah, I kinda like him. ;)

update

This avo Gerry and I have our first Parent-Teacher interview for Alec being in Class 1. He started his first year of real school 3 weeks ago. Had some tough days in the beginning but has blended in well and seems to be enjoying himself. He goes to a local school, and by local I don't really mean 'in the area'. I mean local as in 'from the area' Most expat kids tend to go to the International school. rather upmarket for our budget as Gerrys contract doesn't include basic contract details like education, medical and/or dental. So, we are livin' the dream babee. So, for now, Alec is enjoying life at the Nadi Airport School. Close to his Daddys' work, close to where his little bro' Elias goes to school now. Alecs' old alma matter (is that even a word/s?) The Nadi Airport Playcentre. Elias started on the same day as Alec started so I was back and forth a bit that first day. A few emotions passed through me that day, mostly boredom from sitting in school!....Elias on the other hand was quite at home, almost to the point of giving his teachers(5 of them) high-fives on his way into the school. He had spent the last two years going there with me to be mother helper and was so familiar with the place that he was off and doing his own things without a thought about his Mamasita sitting under the mango tree.
Well, that leaves Vaughn to post about. He has grown a tooth and is working on his second one as we post. He will be 4 months old tomorrow. Which, in Canada, will be the next day, the 14th. Also, coincidentally, the same day we left Canada 3 years ago. Who would have thought I'd be lining up at the local schools wishing, just WISHING, I had a van....oi lei.
post out.

Alec-a-zam

Alec, at Silverstar in Vernon, BC. Having a blast in the snow. Alec, at Skylodge in Nadi. Having a blast in water!
Alec, graduation day from Kindy. He ditched his flower lei asap but couldn't get out of wearing his sulu. Father Christmas arrived via firetruck this year and distributed gifts to the graduating kids. Alec wasn't keen on performing with his class the annual meke they do but finally agreed to the bribe we offered and ended up enjoying performing for the parents.
Alec, the loving and caring big brother.
