times like these
We are coming up on an election. Just a few days away and the whole country is plastered with posters claiming to be the better leader. There are also 'observers' here from all points to 'observe' the election and voting process. (how does one become an observer? do they not blink? great-stare-ers? what?) well, the reason is this, last time there was an election, there was a coup. Not all that noticable, as I'm told, here in the 'west' where I live but in Suva, it was NOT GOOD. Some are nervous, me? I'm a wait-and-see kind of person. Should prove to be interesting times.
In other news, there was a tsunami warning issued at 5am. Apparently, we are on one of the most active fault lines in the world. Did not know this until we www-ed it this morning. We have not felt any earthquakes but others we know have felt them. As far as thetsnami? it was downgraded a few hours after being issued. Somwhere between me plunging panadol (tylenol like) down Elias' throat and nursing Vaughn back to sleep with some 'nin-nin' and a hush-little-baby rendition that I've made up my own words to. (involves lots of aircraft buying and selling in my little diddy) So, never noticed an earthquake, we live too far from the sea to notice any waves. I was woken up several times when it sounded like a grenade was launched at my feet but it was only some south pacific thunder.
and now, at 7am my boys are requesting their tea. must go brew.
