It's been raining for 7 days and mostly 7 nights. And It's been the best week! We have solar panels and no hot water so we've been boiling it to give the boys baths. Cold showers have a good way of making you see the light! Our "extra" kids have been gone for a holiday and I've been able to get a little bit more time with Alec. The neighbour kids have a very strong influence on him.(and me I s'pose) Alec has been out of school this last week for end-of-term holidays and when he goes back he will be in proper Kindy. (Kindergarten for North Americans) Every morning for 5 days. I will miss him but I will also be gaining some freedom. What ever will I do?!
A man we just met, we'll call him Peter.(cause that's his name!) Gave us some advise. He told us that we should just forget that we are Canadians living in Fiji. Just think of ourselves as Fijians and forget that there was another way to do things. We had been discussing investments with him. For him, it's easy, he lives in Australia, is a multi millionaire and so his advise fell short at first. But. I think he's right. All this time, I've been trying to make this place better, like Canada. I have decided that I will try to make it a better Fiji. At least for the few I come in contact with and ourselves. Having made that decision, to remove ourselves from the "Canada" picture has made this a pretty good week. All-in-all.

Now I have requests to make a tent for Alec and Elias. Not just any old tent,a 'beautiful' tent! where does he get that from?

We finally have a street sign on our road. It reads. 'Beverly Hills Rd.' at least I don't have to feel so silly when I give my address!
